3 Picks Review

3 Picks is a new horse racing and sports betting tipster service that specialises in using small accumulators to generate a profit. The service is managed by Paul who “heads up” a team of tipsters.

What does the product offer?

Having had a peruse through the sales material for 3 Picks, I feel that the best way that I can describe what is on offer is a decent looking and pleasantly straightforward tipster service. The fact is that Paul is clearly a realist and as such, there aren’t really any attention grabbing headlines to distract from the service. About the closest we get is a sub-header which simply states “3 selections every day”.

As somebody who looks at a lot of different betting services and systems I always welcome anything that takes a no BS approach. Those that do are often the services which provide the most genuine results. This is a massive factor when considering products. Let’s be honest, whilst we’d all love to be there at the start of a run where a tipster generates hundreds of profits in 3 months, the fact of the matter is that this simply doesn’t seem to happen outside of initial proofing. That doesn’t mean that we can’t still look for consistency though.

In terms of what you are getting from 3 Picks, it is literally right there in the name. It is a daily service where 3 selections are issued to subscribers in the morning. These can be for a number of sporting disciplines with Paul claiming to have a specialist in most sports that 3 Picks tips (I will cover this in detail a little later on). The three picks should then be used to compile a Trixie bet (3 doubles and a treble) which you simply have to place.

One of the things that stands out about 3 Picks is that unlike a lot of services that I have looked at which use a similar strategy is the value. Whilst they may not sound like big odds independently, the majority of selections that come from Paul’s team are somewhere around the 2.0 mark. When brought together this can lead to some big wins (a Trixie with odds of 1.73, 2.5 and 2.1 generated a profit of 18.26 points).

One of the things that instantly appeals about 3 Picks is that the service is simple and this is something which definitely translates to the staking plan. You should be betting 4 points per day overall, one on each double and the triple. This definitely makes it one of the more stable staking plans that I have looked at in recent memory.

Unfortunately there is no published strike rate for 3 Picks however looking over the results I feel like between 25 and 30 percent seems reasonable. This is based off days where 3 Picks as a complete service has generated a profit out of the bets placed. I wouldn’t like to consider this number t be set in stone however.

How does the product work?

I have already talked about how 3 Picks  involves backing the selections as a Trixie bet. I have also mentioned that there are actually a team of tipsters who actually find bets for Paul. This is really key to 3 Picks as each supposedly has their own specialisation when it comes to betting. The team is made up of the following members:

Paul (the founder): Paul’s background is in Management Consultancy and he has worked in several high profile banking roles. He has a background in analytics and is passionate about his sports! He is an “old school gambler” in his own words. Paul manages the website on a day-to-day basis and answers all emails.

Jim: Jim is our resident football tipster and picks all the football selections. Over / Unders, Both Teams to Score or Straight Win-Draw-Loss, Jim looks for value in all markets

Raj: Raj is a former snooker player, who never made it to the top in his sport (in his opinion!) but is an avid watcher and follows every single tournament – no matter what time of day!

Christina: Christina is our resident tennis tipster and she, like Raj, will watch tournaments whatever time zone they are in.

Tariq: Tariq is obsessed with horse racing and, together with Paul, they focus on all the horse racing selections. Both of them have successfully traded the financial markets.

Selections aren’t simply reliant on these specialties however. In fact, we are told that there is an algorithm behind 3 Picks which is able to predict certain outcomes. When a bet fits within agreed odds, this will then be considered. On top of this, Paul says that the 3 Picks team are big fans of using form as an indicator believing it to be a “hugely important factor” in making selections.

What is the initial investment?

There is only one option for those who wish to sign up to 3 Picks and this is a monthly subscription. Paul is asking £34.95 per month in order to join and start receiving selections from the 3 Picks team. It is worth pointing out that payment is handled directly via Paypal and since there is no mention of any money back guarantee being in place, I take this to mean that there is simply no offering. There is however (at the time of writing at least) a trial period that allows you to get access for 1 week for just £1.50.

What is the rate of return?

3 Picks launched back in August and since then it has gone on to generate a very healthy profit of 57.56 points. This may not sound too impressive a figure in and of itself however the nature of 3 Picks means that there will be a lot of ups and downs. Whilst I haven’t taken the time to calculate what this translate to as an ROI, a week ago this was calculated at 12.1% which is a decent figure.

Conclusion on 3 Picks

There is quite a lot about 3 Picks that I like, however I do also have some reservations. The idea of having a group of tipsters operating in tandem with a manager isn’t anything new. It is also a method that is often hijacked by rogue internet marketers which makes it difficult to know when a product is genuine. In this case, I am willing to give Paul the benefit of the doubt, in no small part down to the fact that there aren’t silly claims made elsewhere.

This leads me on to the performance. 3 Picks is performing in a manner that I would describe as realistically (something which adds to my belief that this is genuine). 50 points over 3 months is a decent result, albeit believable. Another thing that I like about 3 Picks is the way the profits are generated. Because of the nature of bets that you are placing, most of your wins will simply be keeping your betting bank balanced. That having been said, there is also the possibility of large pay outs, something which is undeniably satisfying.

With all of this in mind, I think that 3 Picks is probably worth a serious look. The fact that there is no money back guarantee in place is a bit of a downside, but this is standard for most reputable tipsters. This is also compensated for with a £1.50 trial period. It has been a while since I have looked at a tipster service that I am on the fence about and decided it is worth a punt and that says plenty as far as I am concerned.
