Winning Footy Tips is a long standing sports betting tipster service which is being offered through Bets for Today.
Introduction to Winning Footy Tips
I don’t think that it’s unreasonable to say that it is a very welcome thing when a tipster service lands on your desk that has been around for 8 years. Especially when it comes with comprehensive proofing and a seemingly very consistent set of results. In fact, dare I even say it…? On the surface of things, this kind of tipster service ticks pretty much every box in terms of what I personally look for.
And so, here I am, looking at Winning Footy Tips. It is seemingly a dream for somebody like me. The company behind the service, Bets for Today, have the following to say:
Welcome to Winning Footy Tips. This long running football tipping service specialises in finding value in normal bets. No fancy staking or exotic bets to be found with this one. Just straightforward tips that deliver great profits to subscribers.
I know, it’s not exactly the most thrilling statements. But when it comes to betting, boring can be good. I would take dull consistency and frequent returns over the ups and downs of “jackpot style” gambling any day of the week.
Of course, all of this is well and good, but that isn’t where Winning Footy Tips ends. The fact is that whilst Bets for Today definitely have aims that align with my own, I do have some questions about the end result. And these relate to some very important aspects of betting. So, let’s dive into this and see whether or not this is worthwhile.
What Does Winning Footy Tips Offer?
Winning Footy Tips is pretty no nonsense. There is some variation to the norm with the service outside of what you would expect, but this mostly pertains to the bets and I’ll be talking about that a little later on. But to get started here, I am going to focus on the logistics of the service as ultimately, I think this is pretty key to the whole thing.
First things first, Winning Footy Tips is a very long way from a daily service. Typically speaking, you can apply this to pretty much any football tipster service. But what Bets for Today are doing here definitely seem to go above and beyond in this regard. The fact is it isn’t uncommon to have as much as a full week between bets. Something I don’t see as a bad thing.
Now the selections are sent out just twice a week on a Monday and a Friday. Bets for Today send these out directly via email to Winning Footy Tips subscribers, and you can also log into a member’s area on the site we are told. The bets sent on Monday will cover Tuesday through Friday, whilst the bets sent on Friday cover Saturday through Monday. It’s all very straight forward.
The selections are generally made available on the morning of those days, typically before 11am. But what is important to note about this is that you are still getting at least a days notice. This means that if you are following Winning Footy Tips and work a 9 to 5, you should still be able to get some value from your odds.
Whilst I’m on the subject of odds and the emails issued, Bets for Today should be credited with what they are doing here. Selections are issued including what kinds of odds you should be aiming for and the bookies you can get them from. This streamlines your use of Winning Footy Tips massively and means that your results should be in line with those claimed to date.
This is quite important because, as with any football tipster service, there is somewhat limited value to Winning Footy Tips. Bets for Today claim that the average odds come in at 2.87 and honestly, this seems to be a decent reflection of what to expect. What I mean by this is that the averages aren’t bolstered by some ridiculous bets which bring the numbers up.
Ultimately, those odds are influenced by the massive range of variety of bets that Winning Footy Tips takes advantage of (which I alluded to at the start). Of course you have your obvious markets. Backing a team to win, double chances, and even a number of Asian Handicap bets. But there is so much more than that.
There are a number of goal based markets (including some very niche ones like highest scoring half), teams to be leading within a certain period of time, as well as smaller accumulators encompassing all kinds of betting markets. There is certainly a lot going on with Winning Footy Tips.
But that doesn’t have to be a bad thing. The fact of the matter is that between the staking plan and the volume of bets, there isn’t that much risk involved. First things first, that low volume of bets. You could probably have anticipated this, but what if I told you there is an average of just 19 bets per month. That was certainly less than expected.
And because Bets for Today recommend simple level stakes, this means that your potential drawdown just isn’t that high. Factor in their recommended betting bank of 100 points and you should have more than sufficiently covered your bases here.
I think that this is particularly applicable when you also factor in the strike rate for the service. According to Bets for Today’s proofing, this stands at 51.23%. When you bring all of this together, Winning Footy Tips just doesn’t look like there is much that can go drastically wrong.
How Does Winning Footy Tips Work?
Arguably the single most frustrating element of Winning Footy Tips is that there is no information on what the selection process entails. At all. Bets for Today are very keen to talk numbers when it comes to their service, but they don’t provide insight into… Well, anything really. At least, that is the case if you don’t start to dig a little bit deeper.
Whilst it is far from anything conclusive about their approach, Bets for Today do have a blog on the website. Here, you get to see their pre match analysis of a few games and that does give you a peek. It is clear to me that the team behind Winning Footy Tips have a decent understanding of the game. The blog posts show articulate reasoning and demonstrate that they can see what may or may not influence a final result.
Don’t get me wrong, this isn’t perfect. I would have definitely liked to have seen Bets for Today open up a bit more about what Winning Footy Tips involves. But, as it stands, I will take what I can get. The fact is that even the little information that these blog posts give you is more than some tipster services put out there.
On top of this, there is also some very comprehensive proofing. Whilst this doesn’t necessarily give you insight into the selection process, you can get an idea of what to expect from the service. It isn’t perfect, but at least you aren’t coming into Winning Footy Tips simply taking the word of a tipster who can’t demonstrate… Well, anything.
What is the Initial Investment?
Bets for Today have two different options if you want to sign up to Winning Footy Tips. The first of these is a monthly subscription which is priced at £17 (plus VAT) per month. Alternatively, if you are looking for better value, you can sign up at a cost of £37 (again, plus VAT) per quarter.
It is also worth noting that if you sign up to Winning Footy Tips, there is an offer available whereby you can pay £1 for your first 30 days. This is ample chance to give everything a go without paying much out.
On top of this, Winning Footy Tips comes with a full 30 day money back guarantee. This is backed up by the fact that Bets for Today is selling the service through Clickbank. This means that so long as you don’t continually return products, you shouldn’t have any problems claiming this.
What is the Rate of Return?
Now we come to the part of Winning Footy Tips that most people consider to be the most important element. And that is the profit potential. Specifically, Bets for Today say that their selections have produced a profit of £9,117.26. This is however to £50 stakes and it is also spread over those 8 years. What this effectively translates to is a points profit of just 182.35 points.
This means that the average monthly profits of £130.25 per month effectively mean just 2.6 points. There is no way of dressing this up, but that is a pretty naff result. Sure, there is an argument to be made that is profit, but to £10 stakes, you’d be looking at a shade over a fiver profit per month.
With all of that said, there is something to be said for the ROI. This comes in at 13.56% which is actually quite an impressive number. However, in order for this to be necessarily worth anything, you do need to be investing quite a lot.
Conclusion for Winning Footy Tips
I’ve said this a lot, but when it comes to betting, the bottom line is often… Well, it’s the bottom line. If you aren’t making enough money to warrant the time and the effort involved, then there just isn’t a lot of point in pursuing a service. But what constitutes “enough money”? And this is where it becomes somewhat difficult to judge Winning Footy Tips.
Because it is really a question of how much you’re willing to invest. The fact is that the results that Bets for Today claim are all based off £50 stakes. If you’re doing that, then £100 per month as your profit doesn’t look too shabby. Likewise, if you’re willing to invest them time, that ROI if compounded can really start to add up.
There is some very definite income potential here on paper. A grand can quickly become more than £1,500 in just 4 month. Unfortunately, that does mean taking no money out of your betting bank and upping your stakes. But for some people, that simply isn’t a problem. And I suppose that if you are one of those people, then Winning Footy Tips is definitely worth some consideration.
But unfortunately, I don’t believe that most people would fall into this category. On top of that, you also have to keep Winning Footy Tips in context. Whilst I am quite sure that Bets for Today would say that there’s more than enough profit to be made her (and there may be a case for this). But that doesn’t necessarily suit everybody.
The fact of the matter is that there are plenty of other tipster services out there that are making more than 2 points per month profit. And I’m not talking about a few extra points here and there either. I’m talking about 25 points per month as a profit. 12 times what Winning Footy Tips is currently making. Of course, those other tipster services may cost you more than £20 per month. But you are looking at doubling your outlay for a massively increased return.
So, what does this mean for Winning Footy Tips? The fact of the matter is that… Well, it could be worse. I don’t think that this is an inherently bad service. It just all very much depends on what exactly it is that you’re looking for.
The big question is would I recommend it? And I don’t think that I would. Here’s the thing. Winning Footy Tips is definitely a slow burner. And if you have some pretty significant funds to get going, there is a theoretical opportunity here to slowly and consistently build your bank.
Especially if you’re compounding. All with very little work involved. Sure, it isn’t going to turn you a fortune overnight, but it is still profit. But here’s the thing. Averages and theory are not real life. And that is the single biggest problem that exists here.
Bets for Today state that out of 70 betting months, profits have been achieved in just 47 of them. This means that there is a strong potential for loss. And they can really add up. Over the course of 2018 (the last complete year Bets for Today proofed) Winning Footy Tips lost 21 points. For a service that averages just 2.6 points per month that is a massive gulf to make up.
And when you then start to compare those results to alternatives that are on the market, I just can’t see a reason that you would consider this a viable option. Sure, it’s cheap. And I believe that Bets for Today ultimately know what they’re doing. But what does that matter if Winning Footy Tips doesn’t really make money? Unfortunately, it just doesn’t.
