Crypto Revolution is a book authored by Sam Volkering that is currently being marketed by Agora Financial. They claim that it will show you how to generate substantial profits through Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
Introduction to Crypto Revolution
I have tried my best to ignore cryptocurrencies for some time now, but as Bitcoin has clawed its way back up towards the £10,000 mark (mostly down to a bullish market), every man and his dog is coming out of the woodwork and claiming that it is the next big thing (again).
Now a lot of the time, I tend to try and ignore all of this artificial hype that surrounds cryptocurrencies, but Agora Financial have been really pushing Crypto Revolution. So much so, that in the last 7 days, I have received no less than 11 different emails about the service. Some of these have naturally come directly from Agora Financial, whilst others have come via them but have been sent by Sam Volkering.
Now, with the claims that are being made, it is hard to ignore Crypto Revolution, so let’s see whether this is truly the cryptocurrencies revolution we have been promised for so long.
What Does Crypto Revolution Offer?
Crypto Revolution as an offering is very straight forward. It’s a book. Well, technically, it’s a PDF download but I’m just splitting hairs there. Over the course of nearly 180 pages, Sam Volkering talks you through a number of elements related to cryptocurrencies and trading it, ranging from the obvious to the abstract, and for users of all different levels of experience.
Honestly, it isn’t a terribly put together package. It is clear from reading that Sam Volkering does know the topic well (even if he and I are at quite different ends of the spectrum on cryptocurrencies). I can say that objectively, Crypto Revolution is a pretty accessible product and that is something that can be hard to do.
With that overview out of the way, I want to get a little bit more in depth with Crypto Revolution. As you would expect from such a weighty tome there is a lot to cover. When I say that Sam Volkering has written for people with differing levels of experience, I really mean that.
The book covers a number of beginners topics like setting up a cryptocurrency wallet as well as how to actually buy and sell cryptocurrencies online. All of this practical stuff is very handy and whilst it isn’t necessarily what Agora Financial and Sam Volkering have focused on in the marketing, it is arguably one of the stronger elements of Crypto Revolution.
As well as this kind of “tutorial” type content, Sam Volkering spends a lot of time talking about how he has made money through cryptocurrencies. This semi biographical aspect of Crypto Revolution is interesting enough and does provide some insight into the mindset you need to make money trading cryptocurrencies.
In fact, I would go as far as to say that it is a somewhat vital part of the wider process. What I do think is somewhat missing in terms of Crypto Revolution however, is something that is a little less self involved. Sam Volkering is right to write about his experiences, but I would have liked to have seen some more objectivity here rather than so much anecdotal evidence of working with cryptocurrencies.
Finally, there is a lot of speculation and philosophy on cryptocurrencies included with Crypto Revolution. Not that it is specifically laid out this way, but I feel that is the fairest description. This area is a difficult one to review as it is a very subjective thing and, as I have said, Sam Volkering and I are at differing ends of the spectrum here.
What I will say is that this is where some of the more outlandish ideas come out. Whilst I will concede that there is a possibility for Sam Volkering’s roadmap for cryptocurrencies to happen, I am not really convinced. None the less, I will say that all of these little bits of Crypto Revolution do make for an interesting read.
How Does Crypto Revolution Work?
In terms of describing how Crypto Revolution “works”, it is a difficult thing. As I have explored, Sam Volkering’s guide is somewhere between a tutorial, advice on a speculative portfolio, and a manifesto. What I would realistically say is that the product has clearly been created with a view to educating you on cryptocurrencies, and how to get involved.
In this regard it delivers. I genuinely believe that after reading Crypto Revolution, you would be in a position to start buying and selling cryptocurrencies if you wanted to, but I don’t think that you should.
Whilst there is plenty of detail in Crypto Revolution, I don’t feel that there is enough structure there to understand what you would be doing. Yes, you could start buying and selling cryptocurrencies if you wanted to. But outside of simply following the somewhat crudely described indicators, patterns, and theories that Sam Volkering discusses, you would ultimately be going in blind. That is a point that I want to pick up later on.
What is the Initial Investment?
By far and away, one of the stronger elements of Crypto Revolution is the cost. At the time of writing, Sam Volkering is selling his book for a one time cost of £5. This represents a significant reduction on the normal price of £19.99 (a number which I can say with confidence I don’t doubt).
Payment for Crypto Revolution is handled via a proprietary web page of South Bank Research (whom Sam Volkering is heavily affiliated with). It is worth noting that there is no mention of any money back guarantee on the main sales page, which means that despite a mention of this on the payment page, I wouldn’t anticipate this being in place.
What is the Rate of Return?
Realistically, there aren’t any direct claims that are made in terms of how much you can make with Crypto Revolution. This makes sense given the nature of the product. That hasn’t however stopped Sam Volkering from peppering both the sales material and the content with a lot of impressive sounding numbers.
These range from the increases of between 176% and 409% in value of a variety of lesser known cryptocurrencies to the 20,000% increase in value Sam Volkering says that he encountered with Ripple. There are also mentions of various investors and cryptocurrencies market analysts who claim that the value of Bitcoin could hit anywhere between $100,000 and $300,000 in the future.
Conclusion on Crypto Revolution by Agora Financial
I’ll give credit where it’s due. Crypto Revolution is a pretty interesting read. Don’t get me wrong, I still disagree with Sam Volkering’s position on cryptocurrencies and it is a well documented stance of mine that I entirely stand by.
His claim of larger companies and investors getting involved are less exciting to me and in my opinion will actually harm the wider cryptocurrencies market for small time investors as markets will likely start to stabilise. By and large, volatility is where a lot of people have made their money (and what a volatile market it is. Between starting to look at Crypto Revolution and writing this, Bitcoin has lost £1,500).
Having addressed my opinions on cryptocurrencies a little, let’s look at Crypto Revolution as a product. It is fundamentally well written, however, as is often the case with this kind of thing, expect repetition and ramble. The fact that this is a 180 page book is a testament to Sam Volkering’s ability to spin and when you start to look at Crypto Revolution with a more critical eye, this is quite apparent. None the less, I will reiterate that it is an interesting read.
I don’t usually like to do this kind of thing, but if you really want to understand Crypto Revolution, it is possibly best for me to quote quite extensively from the payment page. Statements such as the following:
- “Crypto Revolution is an unregulated product”
- “It is for general information only and is not intended to be relied upon by individual readers in making (or not making) specific investment decisions”
- “Cryptocurrency investing and investing in Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) is a highly speculative investment. The cryptocurrency market can be extremely volatile”
- The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) does not regulate the Cryptocurrency market. This means that you will not have the protection of the Financial Ombudsman Service or the Financial Services Compensation Scheme”
Now, some of these things are widely indicative of what to expect when trading cryptocurrencies, but for me, it highlights a lot of the problems with Crypto Revolution. Namely, that despite the fact that South Bank Research are recognised and regulated by the FCA, this product isn’t.
So, with all of this in mind, would I recommend Crypto Revolution? Honestly, I am inclined to lean towards yes, if you can get it at a fiver.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not recommending this because I think that you will make money off it. Or in fact that I agree with Sam Volkering. But if you have an interest in cryptocurrencies, then it provides you with some insight and different ways of looking at trading and the markets.
And when it comes to the pursuit of knowledge, you should look at everything, not just what fits your agenda. Sam Volkering might not have changed my mind with Crypto Revolution, but I was encouraged to think about some things in a different way, and that is worth the price of a few pints in my eyes.
