Dallas Racing is a service from Mark Glassett that provides users with a horse racing tipster service as well as offers to buy shares in their race horses.
What does the product offer?
Dallas Racing is a rather interesting horse racing service that provides a multi-faceted approach to the sport. They offer two different services as “information providers” (which given the fact that they provide betting advice, I will refer to as tips and Mark Glasset as a tipster) as well as a rather unique proposition in terms of owning your own racing horse.
The first of these tipster services is the Dallas Racing “Website Information Service” which is the longest running service. It is a straight forward tipster service with users gaining access to a member’s area where Mark Glassett uploads his selections for the day.
The other option is a premium tipster service (literally called “Premium Service”) in which any information that has come the way of Mark Glasset as an owner is sent out to subscribers. This includes information on when Dallas Racing’s horses are running well as well.
Finally there is the option of buying 5% or 10% shares in a horse. At the time of writing there are a limited number of places available to do this however Dallas Racing is allegedly increasing the size of the stable.
How does the product work?
The Website Information Service that Dallas Racing provides is probably the most straight forward in terms of how it works with Mark Glassett saying that he draws on his 30 plus years of experience to find selections.
Those selections that come from the Premium Service all come from various other owners around the UK and Ireland.
The shares in ownership that Dallas Racing offers is the most straight forward side of things providing full ownership benefits when you own shares.
What is the initial investment?
Access to the tipster services that Dallas Racing offers are priced at £10 per month for the Website Information Service and £49 per month for the Premium Service. Shares in a horse start from £125 per month. It is worth noting that none of the services that Dallas Racing offers come with a money back guarantee.
What is the rate of return?
Last year Dallas Racing actually operated at a loss on the Website Information Service and 2016 isn’t necessarily shaping up to be any better with the results to date showing a loss of over 70 points.
The Premium Service fares slightly better with only 4 losing months over 2015 whilst 2016 got off to a strong start.
Conclusion
Personally I’m not really sure what to make of Dallas Racing as a tipster service.
I feel like a lot of the stuff that Mark Glasset is offering is secondary to the owning side of things and this doesn’t make for a great tipster service.
The cheaper service shows a pretty consistent lack of profitability and so even at a tenner doesn’t seem worth your time.
The Premium Service does fare better but at £49 per month there are arguably better options for your money. Personally, I don’t believe that Dallas Racing is something that I would personally invest in.
