Essential NFL is a new sports betting tipster service from the Tipster TV arm of the Betfan group. As the name of the product suggests, the tips are all for NFL football in the US.
What does the product offer?
Essential NFL is rather surprising as far as tipster services go, at least in terms of its operations. I was expecting a number of dry, win based selections simply favouring in form teams. Instead, Essential NFL uses a massive variety of bets and staking plans in order to try (which is the operative word in this sentence) and generate a profit.
The nature of the NFL calendar does mean that Essential NFL is rather sporadic and it can be several days between one bet arriving and the next.
When the bets do arrive they cover all kinds of markets from over/under points to straight wins to accumulators on multiple games. This seems in part to be important to get any form of odds, for example a double with odds of just 2.58/1 and even a 6 fold producing odds of just 4.4/1.
This brings me to the numbers side of Essential NFL which is based around staking as high as 5 points per bet. This is despite a strike rate that whilst not ublished, is clearly going to be abysmal.
How does the product work?
Tipster TV say that their man behind Essential NFL is very much in the know and has been involved with NFL since “he was old enough to sit upright” and has supposedly been “fleecing the bookies” for years.
Supposedly a key aspect to Essential NFL is that the bookies often struggle to correctly price up games which means that supposedly, better odds are available (despite the evidence seemingly being to the contrary).
What is the initial investment?
At the time of writing, Tipster TV are offering Essential NFL on a 14 day free trial. Once this has elapsed, Essential NFL goes on to become a monthly subscription service at a cost of £37 per month. As is the case with all Betfan products, there is no real money back guarantee in place unfortunately.
What is the rate of return?
It is still technically early days for Essential NFL, however at the time of writing it is very firmly in the red with the service showing a loss of 26.57 points since it launched at the start of September.
Conclusion
The NFL remains a pretty niche subject as far as tipster services go, in part because not many people in the UK have nearly enough knowledge to make consistent calls. This unfortunately seems to fit the tipster behind Essential NFL as well.
In 3 months there have been consistent losses with each month seemingly losing more than the one before it. This simply isn’t good enough for my liking, especially given the fact that Essential NFL has a pretty intensive staking plan against odds that aren’t exactly huge.
All of this comes together to make a service that I personally can’t see the value in, especially not at the price that it is.
