Gaz Sax Racing Review

Gaz Sax Racing is a long running, independent horse racing tipster service operated by Gary Saxby that claims to be able to generate “huge amounts of profits” for his subscribers.

What does the product offer?

Referring to himself as “The Master of National Hunt”, it is immediately clear that Gary Saxby is confident about his abilities as a tipster. There are also a slew of favourable reviews posted at various places online, all supposedly from subscribers. With all of this in mind, I was rather looking forward to looking at Gaz Sax Racing, in part because I love nothing more than recommending the services of an independent tipster and helping their business to grow.

In terms of how hard he works, I don’t think that anybody can really doubt Gary Saxby. His tips are generally released the evening before a race. These are sent out directly via email and there are typically around 2 or 3 selections sent out to Gaz Sax Racing subscribers.

As you may have guessed from his self proclaimed title, Gary Saxby does only run Gaz Sax Racing during the National Hunt season which means that selections are only on offer from October until June.

The actual bets that Gaz Sax Racing advises you of are surprisingly varied. Whilst they are mostly made up of win bets, there is always the opportunity for more. These tend to be smaller multiples (doubles, triples etc,) and there have also been occasions where there have been Trixie bets advised as well. Given that the selections from Gaz Sax Racing supposedly have an average of over 5/1, this isn’t bad at all.

This only leaves the numbers to look at and from what I have seen so far, there isn’t a lot ot get excited about unfortunately. The staking plan for Gaz Sax Racing is a pretty straightforward affair. Bets are advised to be backed by one point or two points.

Unfortunately, there is no published strike rate for Gaz Sax Racing, but from looking over the results for this year, I wouldn’t expect this to be particularly high.

How does the product work?

Gary Saxby doesn’t really have too much to say on what his selection process for Gaz Sax Racing really involves. From digging around however (and actually having to dig quite deep in some places), it would appear that at the centre of Gaz Sax Racing is straightforward research.

This is something that is mentioned in an interview with Gary Saxby away from his main website.

In actual fact, what he says is that his selections are ultimately statistics based. He says that he will often spend an evening pouring over the race cars and comparing them with the various systems that he has in place for Gaz Sax Racing.

What is the initial investment?

There are three options if you want to subscribe to Gaz Sax Racing which are a monthly, quarterly and a season long subscription. These are priced at £14.95, £39.95 and £94.95 respectively. Payment is handled directly via Paypal.

It is also interesting to note that unlike a lot of tipsters, Gary Saxby does offer a 14 day money back guarantee to Gaz Sax Racing subscribers should you find that you aren’t happy with the end result.

What is the rate of return?

According to the independent proofing (provided through racingproofing.com) Gaz Sax Racing has actually made a loss of 12.48 points so far this year. This is off the back of 100 bets and represents a yield of -7.94%.

It is interesting to note that this is rather contrasted with how Gary Saxby is portraying his service on the Gaz Sax Racing Twitter feed. It is also worth pointing out that on the Gaz Sax Racing website, there is a claim that the service has averaged £600 per month in profit.

Conclusion

Historically, Gaz Sax Racing has seemingly performed quite well. In fact the results over the last 3 years have been rather impressive according to Gary Saxby. The problem that I have however is that the results now are a long way from this.

Whilst I accept that tipsters have ups and downs, to be showing a loss after 3 months is rather worrying. This applies doubly when you consider that this includes a 20.34 point profit in November.

This does however lead me to my second point which is that Gaz Sax Racing has generated a 20 point profit for November. Whilst this doesn’t bring you close to the claimed £600 claimed, it does represent a pretty substantial turnaround from the last 2 months.

From everything that I have seen, the opening results for this year are something of an anomaly and not in line with the longer term results. Solely on that ground, I would personally be inclined to give Gaz Sax Racing the benefit of the doubt.

The fact is that when you start to look at other considerations (for example the price), Gary Saxby is putting out a product that punches above its weight to some degree.

Don’t get me wrong, I know for a fact that there are more profitable tipster services out there, and the recent results from Gaz Sax Racing suggest that there is a justifiable concern.

The thing for me is that for £15 per month, it seems like a pretty well calculated gamble rather than flogging the proverbial dead horse. So with that in mind, although I have a number of reservations, I think that I would probably give Gaz Sax Racing some serious thought.
