Racing Excellence Review

Racing Excellence is a relatively long standing horse racing tipster service being offered by the Betfan group in conjunction with a tipster known simply as Dan.

What does the product offer?

The sales material for Racing Excellence provides a very vivid picture of what creator Dan and Betfan want to sell the product as with the whole thing being packaged as helping you to win in the sport of kings. The whole thing is sold off the back of being easy to use and requiring just 15 minutes a day in order to start profiting. In terms of what you can actually expect as a service, Racing Excellence is actually a relatively straightforward, albeit rather high volume, affair.

For example, it is not uncommon to have in excess of five bets on a given day which are provided a minimum of 2 hours before the race starts. The vast majority of these will be flat and all weather handicaps however Dan does say that he occasionally advises National Hunt.

These are a combination of single and each way (with a focus on the former). The staking plan for Racing Excellence is advised by Dan as the typical Betfan example which does mean staking 5 points per bet. This combined with a strike rate of just 20.89% makes for some rather worrying numbers in my book.

How does the product work?

Dan says that he has been involved in betting on horse racing for some time and has actually been keeping his own book for the last 15 years noting details on courses, trainers, jockeys as well as his wins and losses. This has led to what Dan refers to as “intelligent betting” which has a focus on value.

He also talks about having a network of people “in-the-know” who seemingly help with identifying selections.

What is the initial investment?

As you can probably expect from a Betfan service, Racing Excellence is not cheap with a one month (28 day) subscription costing the not inconsiderable sum of £47 whilst a quarterly (90 day) subscription will cost the slightly reduced £94.

As is typical for a Betfan product, neither of these options really comes with any money back guarantee unfortunately.

What is the rate of return?

Despite a very strong start when Racing Excellence was first proofed to Betfan’s Tipster Planet service, the results have somewhat petered out, despite showing an overall points profit of 668 points.

In fact, between the start of March and the end of April, Racing Excellence really ate into what profits were made during the preceding month.

Conclusion

Racing Excellence falls under an increasingly common theme of tipster services which I note all try to pursue the best possible value in bets. Namely that the income for these is rarely consistent with Racing Excellence spending as much time losing money as it does making it, arguably more so.

Yes, when there are wins they can be massive with one week making over 200 points of profit. This just leaves it to you to decide if you are willing to invest when a service is losing which at 5 point a time is going to be very expensive.
