Racing Unleashed Review

Racing Unleashed is a new to market horse racing tipster service which is operated by Steven Ridgeway. He makes the remarkable claim that he can double your money, every single month, through horse racing betting.

Introduction to Racing Unleashed

One of the things that I often find myself pontificating on is the matter of  just how you judge profits. You can have a strong ROI, although that doesn’t necessarily translate into a decent pounds and pence profit. Likewise, you can say the same thing in reverse. Plenty of cash profit, but actually, when you calculate your returns, they’re a bit naff. So, what would be definitively good? How about doubling your betting bank, every month?

Which of course ties me rather nicely into introducing Racing Unleashed properly. Because that doubling of your bank balance is exactly what Steven Ridgeway claims that you will be able to do. Now, let’s not mince our words here. That is one hell of a claim. But what is really interesting about this is that it is painted by Steven Ridgeway as having “NO RISK” as well. Now, that statement isn’t quite as straight forward as it seems, but I don’t want to dwell on that right now.

The facts here are this. Steven Ridgeway is claiming that Racing Unleashed is hugely profitable, and that there is no risk involved in taking this on. If I were particularly naïve, I might buy into this. But I am not. Honestly, I actually think that there are more questions raised by these claims than answered. And with that in mind, let’s dive right in and have a look at this.

What Does Racing Unleashed Offer?

Quite what is on offer with Racing Unleashed is a very interesting question in and of itself. The truth is that if you look at the sales material for the service, there simply isn’t a whole lot of information made available. I believe that this is ultimately for very good reason. That is to say, good for Steven Ridgeway, not necessarily for you as a punter.

Now, I do want to preface my talking about Racing Unleashed in detail with one of Steven Ridgeway’s “excuses” of sorts for the current state of affairs. Namely, the lack of horse racing that has been on in the UK. We are told that the service got off to a flying start, but the Coronavirus soon put a halt to that. Honestly, I’m not convinced about this either.

The fact of the matter is that what I have seen of Racing Unleashed shows that you are looking at a tipster service which, ultimately, is a very straightforward affair. Now, there are a lot of places that I could start wit this, but I want to open by discussing the logistics a little bit. Because ultimately, I feel that this is exactly the kind of information you should get, that you don’t.

So, as I said, this is all very straight forward. What you are effectively dealing with here is a daily horse racing tipster service. From what I have seen so far, there doesn’t appear to be any gaps in the betting, although, I wouldn’t rule them out in the future. Especially once you’ve passed a month or so.

As is the case with pretty much every modern tipster service, Steven Ridgeway sends selections out to subscribers directly via email. All that you have to do is simply place the bets. However, even this isn’t exactly straight forward. Because Steven Ridgeway isn’t exactly forthcoming with information (it’s almost like there’s a pattern forming here, right?).

 Realistically, if you did decide to follow Racing Unleashed, you would want to make use of an odds comparison website. The fact of the matter is that that lack of information provided is very prominent. As such, if you are going to follow this, I’d be much more inclined to rely on myself than Steven Ridgeway.

Moving on to the bets, this is one area where we are provided some information. Effectively, Racing Unleashed deals with straight win bets, as well as each way bets. My experience with Racing Unleashed is very much in line with that, so kudos to Steven Ridgeway for getting something tight.

On the subject of bets, there are a few things to talk about. One of them are the odds that are involved. Steven Ridgeway states “horses regular returning 4,5 and even 8 times your small stake soon start to add up”. What I take away from this is that you are looking at relatively big odds there. 3/1 up to 7/1, using those numbers. What I have seen of Racing Unleashed is somewhat at odds with this though. Unfortunately, bets seem to err towards lower end to very middling odds.

And finally, I want to discuss the volume of bets. There doesn’t seem to be a whole lot of rhyme or reason here. I wouldn’t say that Racing Unleashed is prohibitively high volume though, which is fortunate. Because the staking plan is quite aggressive.

You see, Steven Ridgeway says that you will start out betting between £1 and £5 on horses. This all sounds well and good, however, these numbers are based off a £100 betting bank. That means that you are risking up to 5 points per bet. And with a small betting bank, you will notice this fact. Furthermore, these stakes double with your betting bank.

Sure, we are told that this is low risk and as such, theoretically, means that there is a very low drawdown. But the fact is that it only takes a few big bets to start chipping away at your betting bank. And once this happens, there isn’t any form of recovery plan in place.

Honestly, it isn’t even like you can say that you’ll be winning often. Whilst Steven Ridgeway is very good at implying that this will be the case, the truth is that there are no claims of strike rates etc. Nor is there any proofing provided for Racing Unleashed. As such everything that is said about the service, you are simply taking the word of the seller on.

How Does Racing Unleashed Work?

Now, whilst there is a massive lack of information on what Racing Unleashed entails, there is plenty of information on how it works. Supposedly. To start things off, we are told a number of times that Steven Ridgeway used to be a trader in the city in his younger years. In theory, this has little to do with his horse racing, but I feel like there is an implication of a more advanced knowledge there.

Secondly, we are told that whilst Racing Unleashed started out looking at “current form, form at the track, form at the distance being run and form on the ground conditions”, the criteria has supposedly “expanded 5 fold”.

We are told that nowadays, Steven Ridgeway looks at things as wide ranging as the trainer/jockey combo, all the way up to the days since the last race. We are also told that he watches a lot of racing including re-runs with “a keen eye for spotting the next big name”.

The astute amongst you will look at all of this and notice that really, it doesn’t tell us anything. What you have are a lot of fancy words that frankly, anybody could have pulled out of a hat. One of the most frustrating elements of Racing Unleashed is that everything is just vaguely eluded to. Even elsewhere in the sales material, there is reference made to value, as if that is also a factor.

But the truth is that once again, all of this involves simply taking Steven Ridgeway’s word about everything. With proofing that demonstrates this, I might be more convinced. But this is something that is very conspicuous in its absence. Especially because Racing Unleashed was running before the pandemic, supposedly. And as such, there should be some recent results to share.

What is the Initial Investment?

If you want to sign up to Racing Unleashed then there are two options available. The first of these is a 30 day “Confidence Builder” subscription. This gives you access for 60 days for just £30 (plus VAT). Once this has elapsed, we are told that you will be given the option to subscribe again at this price.

Alternatively, you can sign up to Racing Unleashed on the “£10k Plan”. This gives you access for the rest of 2020 and is priced at £70 (plus VAT). There is no information available on what this will cost if you chose to subscribe again.

Now, what is particularly noteworthy about Racing Unleashed is that there is a full 30 day money back guarantee. This is backed up by Clickbank with all of the usual caveats. However, Steven Ridgeway goes one step further. You see, we are told that if you’re not in profit after the first 30 days, he’ll “even top your bank back up to £100”.

What is the Rate of Return?

The income for Racing Unleashed is a quite interesting to me, and frankly, a little bit all over the place. The core message that runs through the service is Steven Ridgeway claiming that he can double your betting bank every month. There is even a table “demonstrating it” that looks like this:

£100 ==> £200 MONTH 1
£200 ==> £400 MONTH 2
£400 ==> £800 MONTH 3
£800 ==> £1,600 MONTH 4
£1,600 ==> £3,200 MONTH 5

Despite this being the main selling point for Racing Unleashed, the headline talks about how the aim is to turn that £100 starting bank into £28,472. We are then told that actually doubling your bank every month would see you at £400,000 by the end of the year. But the target that Steven Ridgeway is aiming for is instead just a tenth of this. So… Your guess is as good as mine really.

Sarcasm aside, the best numbers to focus on in my opinion are a claim that the “Confidence Building” package will quadruple your starting bank in 60 days, and that the “£10k Plan” will see you at £10,000 by the end of the year. Although, I should highlight that I don’t believe Steven Ridgeway when he makes these claims about Racing Unleashed either.

Conclusion for Racing Unleashed

I have been in this business for some time, but I can tell you this with the utmost certainty. I cannot remember the last time I looked at a betting system or tipster service that appears to so clearly try to obfuscate information. As well as this lack of information, almost everything that Steven Ridgeway actually says is contradicted somewhere in the sales material.

Furthermore, what I have seen of Racing Unleashed also seems to be at odds with the information provided. There just doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason to anything, and frankly, that concerns me. The fact of the matter is this, any genuine tipster will be more than happy to provide plenty of information about their service. Be that insight, talking about how it works, or proofing.

When there isn’t really anything provided of that nature, and you combine it with information that is at odds. It doesn’t paint a good picture. Really nailing this for me for me as well is the structure of the refunds and packages.

It just doesn’t strike me as a coincidence that Steven Ridgeway is so keen to say that he will top up your betting bank after 30 days. This is of course also after the 30 day period that Clickbank operate. So, the question that really hangs in the air here is just how much faith you put in Steven Ridgeway to honour this offer.

Personally, I just don’t see how I can look at Racing Unleashed and recommend this. There are just so many problems here. There are just a ridiculous number of things that don’t add up. That is greatly concerning to me. Because things usually don’t add up because they’ve been thought out on paper rather than developed organically though… You know, actual betting.

The bottom line is this. Racing Unleashed looks like an attractive proposition at first glance. But it is really quite important in my eyes to encourage my readers to think critically, and a big part of that can simply be asking “does this make sense?”.

What Steven Ridgeway is saying doesn’t in my opinion. Everything feels very well crafted to get those who perhaps don’t understand a lot about betting excited. Doubling your bank sounds exciting. Backing big winners sounds exciting. The service being operated by an ex trader adds an element of excitement, because he must be experienced, right?

All that I see here are a massive number of red flags. I know it isn’t the most scientific approach to say I’m trusting my gut, but that’s what I’m going with here. The fact is that if Racing Unleashed was backed up by solid evidence rather than vague statements, Steven Ridgeway would have a solid argument for me not to “trust my gut”. And the fact that he doesn’t is what really speaks volumes to me.
