Ray’s Double Top is a new sports betting tipster service from Ray Jones that is being marketed through Winning Information Network. It specialises in providing darts bets to subscribers.
What does the product offer?
Ray’s Double Top is something of an interesting offering from the Winning Information Network team in so much as it is the first tipster service that I have looked at that exclusively provides darts tips. Frankly, I wasn’t entirely sure what to make of this and I suppose in a lot of ways I still don’t. According to the sales material for Ray’s Double Top, darts betting is becoming an increasingly popular method of sports betting.
In terms of what you can expect from Ray’s Double Top, Ray Jones seems to tip when selections are available. This can mean one or two in a single day then noting for another 2 weeks.
The staking plan for Ray’s Double Top is somewhat all over the place with stakes ranging from 0.5 points all the way up to 4 points per bet. All of this is balanced out with an average strike rate of around 50% (this isn’t a figure that is published however a look over the proofing does give you an idea).
How does the product work?
Ray Jones is apparently very well connected in the darts world and allegedly knows a number of players “personally” as well as having various contacts and a claimed outstanding knowledge of darts.
To credit Ray’s Double Top, the betting advice that you receive is detailed and explains why choices have been made in great detail. This provides some assurance that Ray’s Double Top is correct when it says that Ray Jones knows his stuff.
What is the initial investment?
Winning Information Network are currently offering a special offer for Ray’s Double Top customers.
This allows you to trial the service for a quarterly period at a cost of just £45. Once this has elapsed, the service will cost £35 per month (actually 28 days) or £70 per quarter (90 days). As is typical for any product from the Betfan Group, there is no real money back guarantee in place.
What is the rate of return?
Since it launched in February this year, Ray’s Double Top has made an overall profit of 36.96 points, frankly, a rather disappointing figure.
Conclusion
If Ray’s Double Top were cheaper, I could entirely see why somebody might be interested in this as a service. There are a low volume of bets involved and in the main, when they come in they are at decent odds.
The problem that I have is that you are paying £35 per month for at most 10 tips per month. When you consider that these have produced just 7 points of profit per month as well, it means that you aren’t making a lot of money when you’ve paid subscription costs unless you are staking at least £25 per point however this can then lead to £100 bets.
This means that you are staking 10% of the profits made which is a pretty risky thing to me. All things considered, I stand by what I said, I don’t really know whom Ray’s Double Top is for, but it certainly isn’t for me.
