Social Spy Agent Review

Social Spy Agent is a piece of software from Ariaindh Sidhar, Brad Stephens and Sam Bakker that allows you to use retargeting ads for your affiliate marketing needs.

What does the product offer?

According to Ariaindh Sidhar, Brad Stephens and Sam Bakker, Social Spy Agent is a piece of software that offers a breakthrough in so much as you can take advantage of retargeting ads, even for products that you don’t own the website for (typically you would require access to the back end to do this). Social Spy Agent follows a simple set up whereby you insert all of your relevant information such as the site you want to advertise and the relevant code for generating you tracking pixel (it is worth noting at this point that Social Spy Agent is only compatible with Perfect Audience, AdRoll and Facebook at this point in time) and then choose a cloaking domain. Social Spy Agent also comes with a two bonuses in the forms of webinars teaching you about using Social Spy Agent and a webinar on monetising traffic.

How does the product work?

Ariaindh Sidhar, Brad Stephens and Sam Bakker say that before Social Spy Agent you couldn’t use retargeting without owning the website. This allegedly made it difficult for affiliate marketers to directly market their affiliate link (as the URL wasn’t owned by them). Whilst it isn’t explained how Social Spy Agent gets around this an educated guess would be that it uses the cloaking domains that you have to select as a way of redirecting the advert for your affiliate link through a domain that you “have control” over. This is however speculation on my behalf.

What is the initial investment?

Priced at $197 Social Spy Agent is rather on the steep side, especially when you consider that there is no money back guarantee mentioned (and therefore is assumed to not be offered).

What is the rate of return?

In a case study for Social Spy Agent, Ariaindh Sidhar, Brad Stephens and Sam Bakker claim that they were able to make over $10,000 from 8 campaigns. There aren’t any specific claims made however outside of the rather vague “hundreds of dollars”. Realistically as a marketing tool, Social Spy Agent has potential to increase your sales although by how much will ultimately depend on how much you invest.

Conclusion

First and foremost I would liked to have had more information on how Social Spy Agent actually works. For example. Ariaindh Sidhar, Brad Stephens and Sam Bakker say that it doesn’t breach any terms of Facebook however these are constantly updated to reflect changing technology and the fact is that Facebook is definitely the main appeal here. That aside there is some solid logic behind using Social Spy Agent for affiliate marketing, especially as retargeting is a great way of increasing your conversion. If you have the money to spare then there is potentially some merit in Social Spy Agent but otherwise it honestly feels rather like a luxury than a must have marketing product.
