Strand Each Way is a horse racing tipster service that is operated by Pro Betting Club. As is apparent from the name the service puts a focus on each way betting with a view to finding value bets.
What does the product offer?
Pro Betting Club say that Strand Each Way offers its subscribers professional each way tips. This is a pretty solid sounding idea as a decent each way service can allow you all the benefits of win betting with a more solid income through the smaller odds and more frequent wins of place betting. As a service Strand Each Way is near daily with most days actually putting out between 2 and 5 selections, all of which are each way bets with a rather expensive staking plan of 1 point on each way.
What is interesting about Strand Each Way is that rather than recommending a bookmaker, the service advocates backing a win and then a place bet on Betfair however better odds may be available through bookies.
The strike rates for Strand Each Way are around 20% on win bets and around 40% on place bets according to Pro Betting Club which aren’t terrible given the penchant for value that is in place.
How does the product work?
I have touched on the fact that Strand Each Way places a lot of focus on value betting and this is something that Pro Betting Club are very keen to move to the forefront but unfortunately there is very little information provided about what the selection process entails. In fact, the only thing that Pro Betting Club do say is that they run all entries for Strand Each Way through “[their] exhaustive set of filters)”.
What is the initial investment?
There is a 7 day trial available for Strand Each Way which costs just £1.
Once this has elapsed however this payment becomes subscription based with a monthly fee of £39.50 in place. There is no mention of any money back guarantee which I would take to mean that there isn’t anything in place however this is typical for most tipster services.
What is the rate of return?
Since the start of January Strand Each Way has achieved an overall points profit of 159.56 points, a figure that frankly I find rather disappointing.
What is interesting about this figure (although I haven’t calculated this) is that at a glance, it would appear that simply following it as a straight win service could prove more profitable.
Conclusion
One of the biggest problems that I have with Strand Each Way is that if an each way service is going to justify being each way, the place betting should make enough money to warrant this and in this case, I don’t believe that this is happening.
Most of the wins where a horse places are for less than a point of profit and this is very quickly offset by the increased points that you are losing. Irrespective of the strategy, for £40 per month I would expect a tipster service to perform better than Strand Each Way has and that is the bottom line for me.
