Top Mark is a horse racing tipster service which is being offered through the Betting Systems stable of tipsters. It is a rather interesting looking service which is based entirely around creator Anthony Gibson’s own ratings.
Introduction To Top Mark
When I visited the website for Top Mark, one of the first things that stood out to me is that there is a distinctive lack of crap. Anthony Gibson is down the line and it is very clear from the Betting System mission statement that this applies to the services on offer. This doesn’t necessarily come as a complete surprise as I am somewhat familiar with Anthony Gibson and Betting System.
If the truth be told, though, it has been some time since I have seen one of their services which I have sat down to review. Top Mark seems like quite a good place to start however with a lot of strong positives and a service that appears to have put out some pretty consistent results. Let’s dive in, pore over some numbers (one of my favourite things) and see whether or not Anthony Gibson can deliver with his tips.
What Does Top Mark Offer?
As I’ve already touched upon, Betting System are pretty no nonsense and this is reflected in a number of ways when you look at Top Mark. First of all, this is a service with a very clear approach to a lot of things, including in terms of wat you can expect. Anthony Gibson sends out his selections to subscribers on a daily basis, directly via email.
There is also a member’s area on the Top Mark website where you can view selections etc. These are all typically released on the morning of the races.
In terms of the bets themselves, whilst Top Mark has an interesting approach (which I will get to), the bets are a very much typical of most tipsters. Anthony Gibson exclusively focuses on win bets which makes following the service very straight forward.
Here is the Top Mark Headline:
There is an average of 5.5 selections per day and these will involve backing a wide range of odds. So much so that in the sales material or Top Mark, Anthony Gibson mentions going up to winners as high as 18/1.
The staking plan which is in place for Top Mark is equally straight forward and is based around level stakes. It is interesting to note that when looking at the proofing for the service, Anthony Gibson has based this around 100 units per bet. Using some joined up thinking, I would presume that this is £100 per point.
This means that those who are looking at the results for Top Mark with mouths watering should factor this in.
Finally, I want to talk about just how often you can expect to win by following Top Mark. On the Betting System website, Anthony Gibson talks about attaining a 34% strike rate however this is only applicable over the first 4 months. I will hold my hands up and say that I haven’t calculated this, but a look over the results for Top Mark suggests that this figure is still approximately applicable.
How Does Top Mark Work?
Top Mark is based entirely on proprietary handicap ratings belonging to Anthony Gibson and Betting System. The exact formula for calculating these ratings is kept secret (and rightly so) however we are given enough insight to see what makes Top Mark supposedly stand out.
Anthony Gibson says that his ratings are unique as they “take into account many other factors that ordinary ratings overlook such as Jockeyship, trainer form, current form and betting”.
Another key aspect to making Top Mark work is supposedly based on taking the best odds on offer when selections go out. This means that I you want to make the most out of Anthony Gibson’s tips, then you will have to be very much on the ball. Furthermore, although it isn’t explicitly stated here, there is clearly potential to sue a BOG bookmaker in order to maximise your results from Top Mark.
What is the Initial Investment?
Betting System offer a variety of different pricing options for Top Mark, all of which are very reasonable. First of all, you can sign up solely for this service. This involves paying £30 per month in order to receive selections. It is worth pointing out that Anthony Gibson erroneously lists the price of Top Mark at £15 in the marketing material. Alternatively, you can sign up to all o the services that are offered through Betting System.
This is priced at £50 per month and £120 every 90 days.
It is worth noting that payment is handled via the Top Mark website and there is no money back guarantee in place for the service.
What is the Rate of Return?
Between November 2017 and July 2018, Top Mark had produced a profit of 315.62 points, a very respectable number (although this is based on a high volume of bets). At the time of writing this, we are at the back end of August and unfortunately, the results haven’t been updated since then.
There is evidence however that suggests that Top Mark can become more profitable as a result of a slight change in the selection process.
Conclusion on Top Mark, by Anthony Gibson
There are a lot of naff tipsters on the market and this week has been a bit of a sobering reminder of that fact. I have looked at a lot of tall tales and ridiculous claims and honestly, this has only served to highlight the importance of finding a tipster who is genuine and committed to their cause. This is what immediately made Top Mark stand out to me. Anthony Gibson and Betting System are clearly a credible option.
On top of this, the results aren’t half bad either. Any tipster that can break 20 points per month is doing something right in my book. Top Mark however well surpasses that with an average morrimonthly profit of 35 points. If he can keep that up till the end of the year, you will be looking at one of the more profitable services I will have looked at this year.
In terms of value for money, I think that Top Mark is probably pretty fairly priced at £30 per month. Had it been £15, I would be very strongly recommending this, but honestly, I can still see value here. If you are looking to really get the most bang for your buck however, it is well worth looking at the other options that Betting System put out.
I fully intend to review them over the coming weeks to see how much value is to be had in signing up for all services, but £20 per month isn’t a lot extra to pay for a complete horse racing portfolio.
With all of this in mind, do I think that Top Mark is a must have service?
The short answer is that unfortunately, it isn’t quite there. It has some strong results and they are consistent. Unfortunately, there are a lot of tipsters on the market which are offering just this and they have had longer run times than 9 months.
For me, the stand out feature here is signing up to all of the services that Anthony Gibson offers through Betting System. A quick skim over the services shows some strong results across the board which really enhances the potential value.
