RaceMaster Naps Review – Betfan

RaceMaster Naps is a new to market horse racing tipster service from the Betfan stable of tipsters. It claims some very strong profits, although it has only been operational a relatively short time.

Introduction to RaceMaster Naps

Whenever something lands on my desk from the Betfan group, it is hard not to sit up and pay some attention. There may be some questions surrounding the guys there, but I can tell you here and now that some of the biggest profits I have seen come from a genuine tipster have come from them.

The email that I received from them about RaceMaster Naps has all the hallmarks of a winner. We’re told about most people only having a deflated betting bank due to a lack of discipline or knowledge from a tipster service. A sight that I think anybody reading this has been able to relate to at some point or other.

What they also do well is (in my opinion) somewhat inflate their results. Now, I will come back ot this, but when you are told that RaceMaster Naps is producing “Winner After Winner After Winner” and made more in 3 months than some people will make in a year. Well, it’s quite easy to get caught up in the potential hype. So, can this deliver those huge profits or not? Let’s see.

What Does RaceMaster Naps Offer?

No matter what I may think of elements of Betfan, what I can say definitively is that their services are always impeccably managed. There is no room for screwing people around and RaceMaster Naps is no different. Despite this rigorous and controlled management though, the service is actually somewhat unique compared to a lot of tipsters I have looked at.

So, what exactly do you get? The short answer to this is that you are getting just one tip per day. Which honestly, doesn’t seem like a lot, but I will come back to this. Selections are sent out the evening before racing (typically between 6pm and 9pm) which allows you to get the best possible value from the service. This is important for reasons I will get to shortly.

These selections are sent directly to subscribers via email, but there are a number of other ways that you can view them. Betfan make them available in a member’s area for RaceMaster Naps so you can view them online at your leisure. Alternatively, you can have selections sent directly to the Betfan app (which is available on both iOS and Android).

All of this means that you shouldn’t miss any of your bets and more importantly, you can get on them as quickly as possible. It is strongly recommended that you are using a BOG bookmaker to get the most from RaceMaster Naps. On a personal note, I will also say that the nature of the service means that Oddschecker will hugely influence the results that you can get.

It has been established at this point that RaceMaster Naps is a low volume tipster service. I erroneously stated that you receive just 1 tip per day. On very rare occasions, you might receive two. Either way, the takeaway here is that it is pretty affordable to follow RaceMaster Naps, even if you are using the recommended staking plan (something I have a lot to say about a little later on).

RaceMaster Naps is all very straight forward (which is good) and will involve you simply backing a horse to win. Now, the odds that you are backing horses at it is typically pretty low. The fact of the matter is that the term nap is right there in the name of the service. For those who aren’t familiar with the  term, it means a tip that is almost certain to be true.

As such, this does mean that you aren’t really going to be betting on outsiders. This is more than reflected in the fact that just 10 bets in almost 3 months have had odds that are higher than 3/1.

This brings me to the staking plan. Now, typically speaking, I am not a fan of Betfan’s staking whereby every bet is advised to be backed to level stakes of 5 points per bet. Unfortunately (or perhaps as the case may rather uniquely be, fortunately), it is employed here.

Now typically speaking, I see this being used to make service look like it has performed particularly well. A respectable 20 point month can look incredible when you see it as 100 points in a month instead. However, that isn’t necessarily a true reflection of the results.

In the case of RaceMaster Naps though, I do think that it makes a certain amount of sense. The fact of the matter is that you aren’t backing longer odds and there is relatively little risk (based off the strike rate, but I’ll get to that). As such, it only seems right that you should maximise the potential returns from bets when they win.

Which brings me rather nicely to the strike rate. This is a nap service, and as such, by definition, you should only really be betting on things that are a sure fire thing. Honestly, with Betfan demonstrating a strike rate of 53.9%. That is a brilliant number, no matter how you want to look at it.

How Does RaceMaster Naps Work?

There are some very impressive numbers that surround RaceMaster Naps, however one thing that we aren’t told (rather unfortunately), is what the selection process actually entails. Now, this is pretty much standard fare for Betfan, if I’m honest, but none the less it remains something of a disappointing element to me.

Here’s the thing (and if I’ve said this once, I’ve said it a million times), I don’t expect a full and detailed breakdown of the selection process that the tipster behind RaceMaster Naps uses. I don’t want to know detailed formula about what ratings they’re using and how that ties in with recent form on courses of a similar length.

What I do want to know however is enough that the tipster I am following isn’t simply picking names out of a hat. This is somewhat unlikely given the results that have been attained over the last 3 months (there is a lot of consistency here), but at 5 points per bet, I don’t think it is an unreasonable request.

Now, I will say that this is somewhat mitigated by Betfan’s proofing (which is impeccable as always). There is no ignoring that over 3 months you can get a pretty good idea of what to expect, however for my money, it isn’t really quite enough.

What is the Initial Investment?

There are a number of different options available for RaceMaster Naps, each of which has wildly varying outlays and value. The cheapest option that Betfan offer is a weekly subscription which is priced at £10 per week. Next, you can sign up on a “monthly” subscription for a cost of £30. This is billed every 28 days though which means paying this 13 times in a year.

Next, there is a quarterly subscription which is priced at £84.50 every 90 days. Finally, and representing the best value, you can sign up to RaceMaster Naps on a 6 month subscription. This comes with the highest outlay and is priced at £143. It is worth noting that all of these options do have VAT on top of those costs.

As is the case with all of  the services that Betfan offer, there is unfortunately, no real money back guarantee in place. The team say that they will review any refund requests, however these are not typically provided.

What is the Rate of Return?

Now we come to the point about RaceMaster Naps that honestly, I’m quite excited about. In less than 3 months, the service has produced a points profit of 203.63 points. That is pretty bloody good and make no mistake. Now, I will admit that there are mitigating factors to this.

One of the key ones is, of course, those 5 point stakes. That 203 points could quite easily be scaled down to 40.6 points if you were jut betting 1 point per bet. That is a much lower number (although still pretty respectable). For the best  reflection of what to expect in terms of the profits, you should be looking at the ROI. This stands at a very impressive 49.07%.

Conclusion for RaceMaster Naps

I don’t think that there is any real getting around the fact that RaceMaster Naps has performed pretty well, no matter how you choose to paint it. Even if you don’t want to consider the results to those recommend 5 point stakes, the ROI of almost 50% is still a bloody good number.

With that said, as I have talked about quite extensively, I would be inclined to lean into those higher stakes if it were me. This is down to a couple of different factors. First of all, and most importantly, I feel like because of the high striker rate and the low volume of bets, RaceMaster Naps is very well positioned to manage risk.

Typically when it comes to Betfan products with the 4 point staking plan, you are betting on large numbers of bets per day. That can very quickly start to add up if you hit a losing streak. That can still happen with RaceMaster Naps, of course, but the historic results suggest that this is pretty unlikely.

Secondly, there is that strike rate. RaceMaster Naps is sitting pretty at over 50%. As such, you are going to theoretically have won a bet for every one that you lose. This means that you shouldn’t ever really end up taking losses to your betting bank.

Finally, there is the odds that are involved. Staking small numbers when your returns on a bet may only be 1 or 2 points, this does severely impact your potential returns. Unless of course, you are willing to bet £50 plus on bets which ultimately, does little to change your risk in terms of the potential outlay of your betting bank.

With that said, there are some concerns surrounding the service. First of all, I’m not entirely sold on the long term results. Not in so much as I don’t believe that the tipster behind RaceMaster Naps can deliver them. If you have done it for 3 months, then there is definitely an argument to be made that you can do it again. But for another 6 months, or 12? That is a big ask.

The other element that puts me off is the costs involved. Whilst those longer subscriptions do come with improved value, they are, well… Longer. And as such, I would refer you to my aforementioned post. Otherwise, paying £36 every month (well, 28 days) is not cheap.

With all of this in mind, I am very inclined to say that RaceMaster Naps is definitely something that is worth keeping an eye on. Some people might want to strike whilst the iron is hot, and I wouldn’t blame them for that. I like to be a little more prudent and would probably see I the service can maintain this form for another few months at least.
